Organ speakers. Why we only use Allen!

At Allen we use the phrase ‘There is no replacement for displacement’

In simple terms this means that we use custom designed and built speakers that inevitably are larger than an average hi-fi speaker.  Our speaker system has been designed to work with the incredible acoustic range of our instruments.  These speakers actually move the air just like a fine pipe organ. 

The speaker system is incredibly efficient (94 dB per watt per metre) this means that less speaker units of a higher quality sound better and move the air.  There is an excellent explanation on this website of how important speaker sensitivity is and how a small difference in the numbers makes a big difference to the sound.
